Description

Dopamine 40mg/mL Sdv 25X 10mL is a potent vasopressor and inotropic agent used primarily in the management of shock and low blood pressure associated with conditions such as heart failure, trauma, and sepsis. Dopamine acts by stimulating dopamine receptors, leading to vasodilation in specific vascular regions, while also increasing heart rate and cardiac output.

At lower doses, dopamine primarily stimulates dopaminergic receptors, which cause vasodilation and improve renal blood flow. At moderate doses, it activates beta-1 adrenergic receptors, enhancing myocardial contractility and cardiac output. At higher doses, dopamine acts on alpha-1 adrenergic receptors, causing vasoconstriction and raising systemic vascular resistance.

This formulation is supplied in a single-dose vial. It is stored under controlled conditions and should be kept at a temperature range of 15°C to 30°C (59°F to 86°F). The solution is sterile and intended for use only in a clinical setting due to the potential for adverse effects, including arrhythmias, excessive vasoconstriction, and tissue necrosis if extravasation occurs.
